"ERISIONI" - State Academic Ensemble of Folk Song and Dance of Georgia, presents the world-famous show program "Georgian Treasure"

"Erisioni" was founded in 1885 and is one of the oldest professional artistic groups in Georgia. To date, the ensemble has created one of the largest world projects in the ethno style.

The ensemble entered the 3rd century, which is an unprecedented event both in Georgia and abroad. "Erisioni" is also called an ensemble-museum.

From the day of its foundation, the ensemble is the only one in Georgia, which, by its loyalty to national folklore, its own traditions, primary source and functional load, is able to revive, preserve and pass on to future generations the masterpieces of folk professional art from all over Georgia, which have passed through millennia and withstood them, such as: two-choir performance (alternation of two choirs), round dance, ritual dance, and other types of folklore national performances.

Over the 135 years of Erisioni's existence, many famous Georgian conductors, choirmasters and choreographers, famous dancers have been members of the ensemble.

It would not be an exaggeration to note that since 2002, the golden age for Erisioni began (which in Georgian means “exalted”, “heavenly”, “located above the mountain peak”. Without forgetting the meaning of the name of the ensemble, the artists make each show enchanting and triumphant!

The State Academic Ensemble of Georgia "Erisioni" has traveled to more than 120 countries of the world, and there they achieved the greatest success and admiration among the audience for the high professionalism of the ensemble.

"Erisioni" amazed and delighted the audience, and conquered such countries and cities as Paris, Geneva, Brussels, New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Madrid, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Athens, Istanbul, China, Singapore, Ukraine, India, Vietnam, Peru, Mexico, Canada, Germany, Norway, Canary and Caribbean Islands, Baltic States, Belarus, and many others.

In its world-famous show program “Erisioni. Georgian Treasure" represents Georgian folk songs and dances, which have no analogues on the whole planet, with costumes characteristic of all parts of Georgia, Georgian character and ethnographic nature.

It is worth to mention that along with several musical masterpieces of the world, in 1977 NASA sent the Georgian folk song "Chakrulo" to the galaxy as a voyager.

In 2002, in Paris, the Erisioni ensemble was awarded the Golden Disc.

Information and advertising media reported on the triumphal return of the ensemble in Paris.

In the same year, the Universal company selected and published recordings by the best performers and ensembles in the world: Montserrat Caballe, Freddie Mercury, Andrea Bocelli, Luciano Pavarotti, Sara Britmann, José Carreras, Placido Domingo, Maria Callas and others. Among them is "Samaia" (Shatilis Asulo) - from the show program "Erisioni Georgian Treasure".

This is an unprecedented case in the history of Georgian culture.

In 2019, the Erisioni Ensemble performed with triumphant success at the international festival in six Chinese cities. And the performance of the ensemble "Erisioni" at the gala concert on China's central television CCTV was watched by 600 million viewers.
